The goal of Duck Creek Kennels is to produce the total retriever/hunting partner with good looks, intelligence, trainability, a strong desire to retrieve, marking ability, a loveable temperament, and structurally and genetically sound.

 

“The cheapest part of owning a dog, is the price you pay for him or her”!!

 

Deposits are non-refundable. Seller makes no guarantee on the physical characteristics of these puppies. Puppies come with 1st core vaccinations, de-wormed, AKC reunite microchip, and AKC registration. NO puppy/dog is sold for any specific use or guarantee of performance, brood bitch (this includes inverted vulvas), stud dog (this includes undescended testicles) show dog, size/weight, looks or field trial/hunt test competitor. Our breeding’s are based on pedigree, health clearances, and titles.

 

Puppies must be checked by their new owners vet within 1 week of going to their new home. It is impossible to state that a puppy will be completely free of genetic imperfections. In our breeding program, we only breed females with an OFA hip rating of GOOD or EXCELLENT, OFA elbow rating of NORMAL, OFA Eye Certification, Genetically unaffected, and Dilute free to males certified with an OFA hip rating of GOOD or EXCELLENT, OFA elbow rating of NORMAL, OFA Eye Certification, Genetically unaffected, and Dilute free. We feel that by adhering to these sound standards, we are reducing the risk of producing a defective pup or litter.

 

Puppies will only be held past the date of eight (8) weeks of age by prior arrangement. Seller may sell any puppy held past the date of nine (9) weeks of age (unless prior arrangements has been made) with buyer forfeiting deposit and all claims to puppy. If puppy has been paid in full, seller will return the purchase price, minus the deposit. Any expenses incurred by the Seller shall be deducted from any returned monies owed to Buyer.

The Buyer agrees to have puppy AKC registered before 1 year of age. * AKC registration cost goes up as the puppy gets older.

 

By completing this document, you are agreeing to the following:

·       The purchase of the puppy stated on your deposit receipt and bill of sale.

·       To pay the balance in full when picking up your puppy if you haven’t already done so.

·       To pick up your puppy no later than one week after the date stating when the puppy is ready to go home (unless other arrangements are agreed upon).

What you can expect to receive by completing this document:

·       A healthy AKC registered Labrador Retriever puppy.

·       Bill of Sale, Puppy Folder containing all necessary documents and vaccine records.

·       AKC registration is LIMITED. This means that there are NO BREEDING RIGHTS FOR THIS PUPPY. Buyer can obtain breeding rights, FULL registration under the conditions listed below regarding breeding. All required health testing must be provided to Duck Creek Kennels with official OFA numbers before registration is changed from limited to full.

·       Your Duck Creek Kennels dog MUST have before breeding.

·       Be the age of 2 years or greater.

·       Hip Dysplasia OFA Evaluation with clearance of (Excellent, Good, Fair)

§  PennHip can be done at the age of 16 weeks or greater (score must be <0.39 or lower)

·       Elbow Dysplasia OFA Evaluation with a rating of (Normal)

§  These above said test can be completed by the age of 2 years or later. (No Preliminary results are valid for breeding rights)

·       ACVO Eye Exam by a boarded ACVO Ophthalmologist with an eye CERF/CAER number.

·       Cardiac Evaluation (either Advanced Cardiac Exam, or Basic Cardiac Exam) with OFA number.

·       DNA based tests from an OFA approved lab with a result of (WT/WT Normal (clear)) for the following with OFA numbers.

§  Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC)

§  Centronuclear Myopathy

§  Prcd-PRA

§  D Locus (Dilute)

***We guarantee the Sire and Dam of your puppy will be clear (WT/WT Normal (clear) of the above said DNA testing which mean your puppy will also be clear for its lifetime.

·       Your puppy MUST hold a title in at least one organization before time of breeding.

o   AKC Field trial

o   AKC Hunt Test

  • Senior Title or Higher

o   UKC Hunt Test

  • Seasoned Title or Higher

o   NAHRA Hunt Test

  • Intermediate Title or Higher

o   APLA

  • APR – Advanced Pointer Retriever title or Higher

§  Titles with obedience, trick dog, good citizen, agility are void and will not be awarded breeding rights until above said title is obtained.

·       The stud/dam to which you are breeding MUST HAVE:

§  OFA Hips, elbows, and eye clearances of normal.

§  Breed specific disease panel (be mindful of any CARRIERS present on panel and dilute clearance numbers)

·       Your stud/dam CANNOT be bred to a dog that carries dilute, or is a carrier and your dog is a carrier of the same genetic disease :

§  No hips, elbows, eye screenings or genetic testing completed.

§  Affected by or a carrier of CNM, EIC, Prcd-PRA or D Locus.

§  Must be 100% dilute free breeding (no breeding to silver, charcoal, champagne)

  • If this dog is bred without the approval by Duck Creek Kennels (on the basis listed above) Duck Creek Kennels will require the return of the dog. Any dog with Duck Creek in its pedigree is a direct reflection of this kennel.

 

·       Do not spay or neuter before the age of 18-24 months for hormone and growth reasons.

 

 

***** If any of the listed breeding regulations are broken the breeder will act towards the puppy owner with legal power.

 

·       Do not “overly exercise” before age of 6 months. Examples: jogging/biking with owners for long periods on concrete/ dirt-rock roads, excessive jumping in and out of vehicles/ dog boxes etc.; any training/playing that may be too strenuous on the puppy’s joints. This can cause a defect on the puppy’s joints during the growth process.

·       You agree to providing monthly heartworm, intestinal worm, and flea/tick prevention.

  • You are being sold a puppy that is free of heartworms, any other parasitic diseases, or sickness. If your puppy/dog is diagnosed with any sickness after said puppy/dog has left Duck Creek Kennels, it will be the owner’s responsibility for payment of vet care and treatment.

We also allow Venmo, cash, or check for a deposit.

We accept a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT to reserve a puppy for you. Priority of pick for the puppies is established by the order deposits were received. The remainder of the payment for the puppy is due on the day the puppy is picked up at 8 weeks old. We will also take personal checks only if received 7 days prior to puppy pick up for bank clearance. Anyone using Venmo for the deposit or to pay the balance of the puppy may be asked to pay an additional processing fee (depending on what is charged by Venmo). Receipts are given at the time deposits and final balances are received. Please review a copy of our puppy questionnaire prior to making a deposit.

PICK UP DAY/TIME:

We at Duck Creek Kennels understand you may have to work etc.; BUT please make arrangements ahead of time to pick up your new puppy, pups are ready to go at 8 weeks old. Please do not wait until the last minute to try to take off work etc. Puppy pick-up will only be done in person (No mailing dogs through postal service). Please be aware and patient that other picks are possibly ahead of your pick. Please do NOT come unannounced, this is our home. Please call if you wish to visit the pups and we will set up a time. Anyone that cannot pick up their pup on the dates we set for pick up will incur extra care expenses associated with the pup until time of pickup unless other arrangements have been made in advance. NO EXCEPTIONS! Receipts are given at the time deposit and final sale are received. Please text or email a picture of the check before you put it in the mail. Please review a copy of our sale agreement form prior to making deposit.

Duck Creek Kennels Health Guarantee:

We offer a 30-month health guarantee for hips, elbows, and genetic diseases.

The guarantee applies to the puppy/dog mentioned on the deposit receipt and bill of sale.  This guarantee is good for 30 months from the date of whelping.

Hip Dysplasia:

·       The pup/dog must currently be owned by the person/persons that made the original purchase.

·       The pup/dog must NOT have whelped or sired a litter.

·       The pup/dog must not exceed 30 months of age at the time of the X-ray.  The OFA will accept X-rays for the evaluation of animals 6 months of age or older.  Only dogs 24 months of age or older, with normal hips will be given certification numbers.

·       X-ray fees are your responsibility.

·       If the OFA states that this pup/dog will not pass certification between the age of 24 to 30 months, we will replace the pup/dog with a pup/dog of equal value as soon as one is available. If you choose to receive a puppy of higher breeding and/or price, the price of the dog covered by this guarantee will apply towards the higher price of the new puppy.

·       Original deposits are non-refundable, and no money will be refunded.

·       Refer to Health Guarantee page for in depth explanation of reasons for guarantee to be void.

Replacement Procedures:

If the OFA states that this puppy/dog will not pass certification before 30 months of age, we will replace the puppy/dog with a puppy/dog of equal value as soon as one is available. If you choose to receive a puppy of higher breeding and/or price, the price of the dog covered by this guarantee will apply towards the higher price of the new puppy. The balance of the higher priced puppy will be paid by the buyer of the replacement puppy before replacement puppy is obtained. If the puppy/dog is found to be dysplastic, you must have the puppy/dog spayed or neutered by your veterinarian and have him/her send us a letter of verification. Or the original dog purchased must be returned to Duck Creek Kennels at the owner’s expense. Additionally, this MUST be done before replacement puppy is provided to buyer.

·       The vet fees are your responsibility.

·       Shipping cost for the return and replaced pup/dog are your responsibility.

·       Duck Creek Kennels reserves the right to have a second opinion done at your expense.

·       Your dog is guaranteed to be free of EIC, CNM, Prcd-PRA, and D Locus (Dilute) for its lifetime.

 

RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL

If, at ANY time in the life of your Duck Creek Kennels dog, it becomes necessary for ANY reason to give up ownership, the buyer will notify Duck Creek Kennels immediately. Your said puppy is being sold by Duck Creek Kennels to its ETERNAL home. If you are unable or can no longer provide adequate or proper care to your dog the buyer is to return the dog to Duck Creek Kennels with all health records, registration, and paperwork. Returning the dog to Duck Creek Kennels will be at the Buyer’s expense. Duck Creek Kennels will not provide any refunds of any kind on said dog to the buyer. If buyer decides to sell or rehome puppy or dog without contacting Duck Creek Kennels first, Duck Creek Kennels will take legal action.

**** If any of the listed regulations stated above by Duck Creek Kennels are broken the breeder will act towards the puppy owner with legal power.

The Buyer has read, understands, and agrees to the terms of the above stated contract with “Duck Creek Kennels”. This contract is binding and will not expire.
